Show folder in menu / jumping from one shortcut to another
Published on February 29, 2008 By Erlend In ObjectDock

Hi! First forum post from a long time Object Desktop, and more recently, ObjectDock user...

I have placed shortcuts to several favourite folders on my dock, enabling the "Show folder in menu" option.

And since I am not perfect; every once in a while I click the wrong shortcut. I find that if I click the correct shortcut directly afterwards, any subfolders in that folder will not open. I have to first close the first folder menu, by clicking somehere else on the screen, and then opening the correct shortcut to get subfolders to open.

This is not a major bug, of course, and after many sleepless nights I have learned to live with it. Just thought I'd let you know, hoping that it will be fixed in a future release. Maybe it's not a bug but a feature? I don't know... or maybe this will tip the scales and earn the next version a "2.0" tag?

Anyway, with or without this bug/feature: Thank you, Stardock, for Object Desktop and ObjectDock!!! I cant't imagine ever using a computer again without either installed! They are both invaluable (collections of) software that makes using and working with a computer much more fun and productive! (This last paragraph probably doesn't really, strictly, belong in a bug report but whatever... )

Apologies for any bad spelling...

regards, Erlend.

Ya it does that on me too, XPHomeSP2. If you really want to get it into the "please fix" pile you should probably send in the form to support
WWW Link
let them know what version of Windows you're running, and reference this thread.

I'm still waiting on a fix for the "if my mouse is not on the primary screen of a 2 monitor setup when ObjectDock starts, tabbed docks will appear on the wrong monitor (in short, they appear on whatever monitor the mouse is on apparently)" bug...

I've lost track of how long ago that was reported, and even though it has said in subsequent updates that it was addressed, it actually wasn't. Still broken...still waiting.

Excalpius-

So THAT'S what causes that! I've been wondering why my tabbed docks switched screens occasionally, hadn't tied the mouse to it. Now if I can just keep from playing with the mouse while I'm waiting on a boot I should be good to go. Thanks for the trivia!

Glad I could help...though it's a pity they haven't fixed this yet.
